CAT RESCUE IN ELLICOTT CITY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS If you love cats, have a few hours to spare each week and wish to make a difference in some animals' lives, we need you. Small Miracles Cat Rescue at 10236A Baltimore National Pike is a NO KILL, non profit shelter. We need people to help pitch in with cleaning and feeding at the shelter, as well as a morning or evening at either the Columbia or Ellicott City Petco. Even one to two hours per week would help. AARP DRIVING SAFETY COURSE In one four hour course, students over 50 learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, and rules of the road. They also learn how to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. Costs $12 for AARP Members, $14 for others. By taking this course, you may be eligible for an insurance discount. Classes will be held at the Howard County Hospital's Wellness Center on the second Thursday of each month in 2011, from 12:00 to 4:00. To preregister for a class there, call 410-740-7601. Montgomery County Notes

HOSPICE CARING, INC. is a non-medical, volunteer-driven hospice located in Gaithersburg, and provides compassionate care to residents in Montgomery County who are at their end-of-life journey. Hospice Caring also sponsors adult and children's bereavement programs and Camp Caring, all at no charge. We are looking for volunteers to help us wrap gifts purchased at Barnes & Noble's Rio and Bethesda locations beginning Friday, November 25 through Friday, December 24.
